Merdeka Decoration Service for Corporate Offices
For this Merdeka Decoration Service project for Perbadanan Prima Malaysia, BackdropKL created a colourful festive setup using several custom-made display elements. The overall decoration combined panel backdrops, custom display cubes and a photo-op 3D frame to create a fuller and more engaging environment. Instead of relying on one large backdrop, different pieces were arranged around the venue to strengthen the patriotic atmosphere while keeping the setup practical, photo-friendly and suitable for a professional corporate office.
Behind the Scenes: CNC Cutting Foamboard
Behind the scenes, our team used CNC cutting to produce customised foamboard elements for the Merdeka decoration. The two videos above show part of the production process, where printed foamboard was carefully cut into decorative shapes and design elements. CNC cutting allows us to achieve cleaner edges, consistent shapes and more detailed finishing compared with manual cutting. These customised pieces were then prepared for assembly before being transported to the venue for the final installation and decoration setup.
Custom Merdeka Panel Backdrop
The custom panel backdrop was one of the main highlights of our Merdeka Decoration Service for Perbadanan Prima Malaysia. The setup combined freestanding panels in different shapes and heights, featuring the Malaysian flag, corporate branding and colourful batik-inspired artwork. By layering the panels together with decorative florals, the decoration created more depth and visual interest than a standard flat backdrop. This style works well for corporate offices, reception areas, event entrances and festive photo-taking spaces.
Custom Merdeka Display Cubes
Custom display cubes were added to create more depth and dimension within the Merdeka Decoration. Each cube is the same size but features different Malaysia-themed artwork on each side, including the Jalur Gemilang, crescent and star, festive greetings and colourful tiger illustrations. The cubes can be displayed individually, placed side by side or stacked to create different arrangements, making them a flexible decorative element for backdrops, photo areas and corporate Merdeka displays.
Merdeka Photo-Op 3D Frame
The custom Merdeka photo-op 3D frame created an interactive photo point for staff and visitors during the celebration. Designed with a large open centre, guests can step behind the frame and become part of the display when taking photos. The design features the Jalur Gemilang, hibiscus flowers, hornbill, Malaysian-inspired motifs and corporate branding, with custom-cut foamboard elements adding extra depth. This photo-op frame is ideal for corporate Merdeka events, office celebrations and festive public spaces.
