Grand 90th Birthday Celebration with Number Entrance Arch & Elegant Decorations

BackdropKL had the honor of creating the decorations for a 90th birthday celebration at Le Méridien Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. With the theme “Old is Gold” and a color palette of gold, cream white, and mixed shades of blue, the setup was designed to look both elegant and timeless.

The Grand Number Entrance Arch

The highlight of the event was the 90 number entrance arch. To celebrate this milestone birthday, we built a massive structure where the zero formed a semi-round archway for guests to pass through. At 1.5ft depth, the structure was sturdy, grand, and truly impressive. Guests were amazed by its size and design, praising it as a creative way to welcome everyone into the celebration. This number entrance arch became one of the most memorable and photographed parts of the event.

The Stage Backdrop

On stage, we installed a 20x10ft tarpaulin backdrop featuring cut-out lettering of “Old is Gold” to create a standout pop-up effect. To enhance its look, the backdrop was decorated with floral arrangements in gold vases on pedestals, along with lush flower bushes across the stage floor. This setup became the perfect background for speeches, performances, and photos, setting the tone for the entire celebration.

Welcome Signage Area

Guests were greeted at the entrance with a custom foamboard welcome signage hanging on metal stands. The area was decorated with flower arrangements in gold vases, silver candelabra, complemented by candle blocks on golden stands. This cozy corner immediately set a celebratory mood as guests arrived.

Walkway Decorations

For the march-in moment, the walkway was lined with tall lighting stands, creating a glowing pathway that added excitement and grandeur. The illuminated walkway gave the birthday entrance a true red-carpet experience.

VIP Table Decor

At the VIP table, we arranged floral centerpieces in gold vases, matched with golden canisters and a gold foil cut-out “Happy Birthday” topper. This elegant design tied in beautifully with the theme colors while giving the VIP setting a special touch.
